Shell and Peddlethorp Architects commissioned AAR to source and provide a major public sculpture for the forecourt for the new head office in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
A short list of three artists was presented to the board and staff of Shell Australia. Between all consultants and the Shell international staff; the decision was made to commission one of the last maquettes left behind by Anthony Pryor.
The work stands 8 metres tall and is constructed from steel, bronze and stainless steel.
The estate of Anthony Pryor supervised each stage of this commission and his widow Jutta officiated at the unveiling of this major work.
