Greg visited the site in 1999 and worked on concepts for a major sculpture for the unique and high profile position.

The scale of this monumental work, with its dramatic changing form and relationship to the arch to the building were all important considerations for the commission. The sculpture was constructed from Corten Steel, a material reflective of the Australian landscape. The work engages its audience and setting through its scale and changing form on view to the passing traffic.

With an overall height of 8.5 meters, Origin is the single largest sculpture to be moved by road transport in Australia.
