This monumental work by Mike Nicholls was a site specific commission.

The client’s property presented many challenges. Access to the site was limited and the surrounding landscape falls in parts with steep gradients. Although challenging, Mike installed a magnificent work that soars into the sky. Thus creating a very strong effect, that is still sensitive and supportive to the surrounding landscape.

The sculpture is carved from abandoned River Red Gum; that Mike discovered on a road side. The timber weathers beautifully; as the elements enrich the overall patina.
