Architects Gray Puksand engaged AAR as Art Consultants for the site. The brief was to establish a landmark CBD foyer. AAR submitted several options for the space from a selection of artists.

Greg Johns was selected and ‘Union’, a work that he had created as a model back in 1983, was then commissioned by Fortius Funds Management on behalf of the owner, HSBC. The project was then co-ordinated in full by AAR in order to ensure a timely delivery of this large scale sculpture.

‘Union’ is a single piece made from Corten Steel with the final size being 2.7mH x 3.5mW x 2.6mD.

The work was completed in the artist’s studio in South Australia and then transported by road to 330 Collins Street, Melbourne.

The complex installation was managed by Australian Art Resources in conjunction with the artist. The results were worth the wait!
